Questions
My rating changed and I got no new reviews. Is that a bug?
No — that is the thing revu exists to explain. Etsy's shop rating counts only the last twelve months, so an old review turning a year old changes your average on its own. If it went up, an unhappy review just aged out.
Why does my panel say you cannot reconcile the numbers?
Because our count of the reviews in your window does not match the count Etsy publishes, so any date we predicted would be a guess. It is usually a deleted or edited review, or a listing that went inactive. It normally sorts itself out within a pass or two. The full list of reasons.
Etsy already emails me about new reviews. What is different here?
Three things Etsy's email does not contain: what the review did to your average, the date your average changes next without anyone doing anything, and how many five-star reviews stand between you and the next mark. revu is deliberately quiet about good news arriving — Etsy has that covered.
Why do I only hear about three stars and below?
Because those are the ones worth stopping your morning for. Four stars is a good review. If we emailed about every arrival you would stop reading the emails, and then the one that mattered would arrive into a folder you ignore.
Can I watch a shop that is not mine?
Everything here is public, so technically yes. But the five-shop limit, the wording of the emails, and the whole design assume these are your shops. There is no way to see anything a shopper could not, and the shop owner is not told.
Do I need to connect my Etsy shop?
No, and there is no way to. revu never asks for Etsy authorisation and holds no token for your account. Signing in with Google gives it your email address; the rest is public.
What is the difference between 4.72 and "shows as 4.7"?
4.72 is the figure Etsy hands us. 4.7 is what a shopper sees printed next to your shop name. The gap matters: at 4.749 you are one bad review away from a visible drop, and at 4.751 you have just gained one. The panel shows both so you know which side of the line you are on.
How do I stop everything?
Account → Close and erase. Immediate, and it takes the watched shops with it. To keep the panels but stop the email, turn mail off on the same page.
